The Shots Trust

The Aldershot Town Supporters Trust provided football loving Shots fans with the perfect day out during the October 2011 half-term, when our Young Supporters section held it’s first “Wembley Stadium Tour” event!

The sell-out event, organised by Young Supporters Director Sharon Woolley, got underway at 10am with a welcome speech from club founder Terry Owens before the group was split in to two for the first of the days events – a tour of the EBB Stadium!

With Terry taking one group, Shots Trust Project Director John Orme took charge of the second tour where supporters were treated to a behind the scenes look at the Shots with access all areas firmly on the cards.

The tour gave an insight from everything from the stands to the boot room with supporters even getting to walk on the hallowed turf (but don’t tell Nunny!)

Following the tour, there was an early lunch provided courtesy of our friends at Dominos Pizza with entertainment in the form of one of Kappadeano’s excellent compilation videos of the Shots before it was “all aboard” our Reptons coach for the short trip to North London – and Wembley Stadium.

Again, the group was split in to two and each went their separate ways under the leadership of the tour operators and once again, fans got the chance to see where the TV cameras don’t go – and there were non-stop photo opportunities for everyone, including in the press area, changing rooms and not to mention with the FA Cup!

After the tour, it was back on to the coach for snacks and the trip home!

Speaking after the event, Sharon Woolley said: “We’ve had excellent feedback from this trip and with it selling out in record time, we had already pencilled in our next one for the February half-term.

“Everyone I have spoken too has said that they really enjoyed the day so it was great that we could get everyone from the kids to the grand parents involved, the day had a real family-feel about it and I would like to thank everyone who came along and supported the event.”
